Many of us have an unfortunate tendency to picture God as a scolding authority figure. He sees our failure and sin, and we are convinced He stands ready to crush us and condemn. After all, the Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death. Yet, God sent His Son into the world to save us. We were trapped in darkness, and He came as the light to show us the way out. Of all the ways that Christ could have come into the world, He chose to come as an infant child, not as a harsh judge. He invites us to draw close and experience His love. He loves us all!
