“Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.” - John 15:4
The word remain in this passage has a great fullness of meaning. It can mean to “stay,” but it also means to “abide,” “dwell,” and “make your home.” Jesus is asking us to “make our home” in Him, that He would be the center of what brings us peace and where we find our sense of meaning and contentment. As we grow in relationship with Him, being more and more “at home” in Him, our lives become fruitful. Where do you make your home? May we remain in Him!
