"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet." - John 13:14
Jesus knew that He was about to be betrayed, arrested, and crucified to purchase our forgiveness. Of all the things He could have done at this last meal, our Lord chose to kneel as a lowly servant when He washed the feet of His disciples. Earthly standards of importance were silenced. Hearts were challenged as the Master admonished His disciples to receive His cleansing love. We, too, are called to serve one another in true greatness through Christ’s example of humility.
