“Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love...” - Joel 2:13
Ash Wednesday marks the season of Lent, a time in which we choose to identify with Christ as He faced 40 days in the wilderness overcoming temptations from the enemy. It is a time of soul-searching and transparency before the Lord. Though many may choose to have their foreheads marked with ashes today as an outward sign, today is meant to really be about having a repentant heart. God is full of grace, ready to forgive, and gives a fresh start to all who turn to Him.
