Today is the final day of the 8-day Hanukkah celebration. This holiday celebrates the restoration of worship in the Jewish Temple back in 165 B.C.. Tradition holds that although there was only enough oil to light the menorah for 1 day, it lasted for 8 days! That’s one reason this holiday is also called the Festival of Lights. James declares that God is the Father of Lights. He offers us good gifts and will meet us even at our place of greatest need. Let’s open our hearts anew to Him this holiday season and invite Him to fill us with the light of His love.
