“And everyone who call on the name of the Lord will be saved…” - Joel 2:32
In the days of the prophet Joel, times were tough. Locusts and drought had destroyed the fields. Attacks from enemy nations had led to fear and depression. The hardships of life seemed unrelenting. Into that heartache, Joel spoke a word from God to bring restoration. First, He called the people to examine their hearts, cast off sinful ways, and to return to the Lord. Second, he gave them a promise: there was hope for all of them to be rescued from their misery. All who called on the Lord would be saved! Every single one. Today, that same call speaks to us. The Lord directs us all to turn to Him with the promise that rescue awaits. As we submit ourselves to Him, we can expect to find mercy, strength, renewal of heart, and the ability to endure and overcome all that we face. Let’s call on Him today! He is the Savior!
