When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place and I was not aware of it.” - Genesis 28:16
Jacob was in the difficult place that I call, “in-between.” He wasn’t where he had been and he wasn’t where he was going. He was a mama’s boy who was probably homesick. His own brother wanted to kill him. Yet, God had promised him he would be blessed. God was with Jacob as he dreamed about angels moving to and from Heaven on a great ladder. But God was also with Jacob when he was alone in the wilderness with nothing but a rock for a pillow. Though Jacob was unaware of God’s presence, it did not change the fact that God was still with him. So if you’re in a similar place of feeling numb and wondering where God is at in this moment, it’s okay! He is still with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. And He cares!
