“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” - 1 Timothy 2:1-4
The Republic of the United States does something amazing. Every four years we vote on who will lead our country (in addition to numerous other leaders as well). When it’s all said and done, some will rejoice…and some will mourn. Many may be frustrated. It’s important that we vote, certainly. Can I offer that it is even more important that we pray? Today, and every day! No matter who wins or loses an election, we can trust that the Lord is ultimately in charge. No matter what else happens, we can always turn to Him and find hope…and help. Let’s pray for our leaders today…and for the leaders we’ll have tomorrow. May our confidence, however, not be merely in earthly powers, but in the One who ultimately holds all power and authority. 😊
