Isaiah prophesied of one who would come with the Spirit of the Lord on him to minister Good News to the poor. Jesus later proclaimed that He was the one of whom Isaiah spoke. Part of that Good News was the promise of bringing comfort to those who grieve and turning ashes into something beautiful. In 2001, today was a day of tragedy and heartache. In the years since, we have had the opportunity to come together in honor of those who were lost and to work to make a positive difference. The hardships of the past are never erased, but they do give us opportunities to move forward. If you are struggling to overcome the ashes of your past, know that the Lord wants to meet you today…and help move you into something wonderful.
