“…but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength.” - Isaiah 40:31a
In the Syriac translation, the word “wait” in Isaiah 40:31 carries the idea of “threads” or even “spider webs” being woven together. It conveys the tense, intricate process that eventually creates strength and beauty. Waiting on God can be difficult, especially when we do not understand that what is being woven together is for our good. For the record, I do not like spiders. On the other hand, webs glistening with dew in the morning sun are artwork in the finest form. I believe we end up stronger and better for having endured with hopeful expectation in the goodness of God. May God’s grace be woven throughout your life today and bring renewed strength and joy as you actively wait on Him!
