Question: If you could give young people a piece of advice, what would it be?
Answer: Work hard to attain what you want in life! That has worked out for me.
Back when I was working, I was thinking about changing jobs, but my wife saved me from doing that. She asked, “Do you enjoy what you’re doing?” and I told her I did, so she said, then why do you care how much money you’re getting? So, I stuck with it and as a result I became chairman and CEO of Nooter Corporation. We fabricated steel and alloy plates. We engineered things and followed the fabrication of them though the shop and were responsible for all those fabricated products as they went out the door. So, we made large tanks for the Anheuser-Busch brewery and places like that and it was interesting! One of the vessels we shipped, we sent it on a Russian plane to then it shipped to China. Things like that. You had to move it and find a way to move it. I liked that. – George Bouckaert, resident at Friendship Village Sunset Hills
After gathering about 200 interviews and photos, we will publish A BOOK featuring all the great residents who participated at Friendship Village Chesterfield and Friendship Village Sunset Hills. AND PARTICIPANTS get A FREE COPY OF THE BOOK! During the period of working on the project, we will also be sharing these photos and stories on Facebook and other social media such as Instagram, so look for them and please follow the hashtag #WeAreFriendshipVillage to stay current with the project!
We think it’s a great chance to share a bit about who we are! Residents’ participation takes about fifteen minutes, so it won’t take much time to be a part of it and we think everyone will enjoy getting to know their neighbors and friends a little bit better!
If interested in participating (or know someone else who might be), feel free to give us a call at (314) 270-7837 or email at nagysteve@fvstl.com or drop by the marketing suites in Sunset Hills or Chesterfield. We have a few hundred of these to do, so everyone is welcome!
We look forward to seeing you as we get to share insights about the senior living residents who are making our Friendship Village retirement communities so great!
Thanks again!
