Friendship Village Senior Services’ Update and Response to COVID-19 as of Monday, December 21st, 2020
Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
Christmas is almost here at Friendship Villages on this Monday, December 21st, 2020!
Residents at all levels on both campuses are getting ready for Christmas. We ask for Christmas blessings for all, every year, but especially this year. The hope of our new future is emerging.
Our partner, Walgreen’s has scheduled our first vaccination clinics for the Skilled Nursing Facilities:
- Monday, December 28th at Friendship Village Sunset Hills – all consenting residents and staff
- Tuesday, December 29th at Friendship Village Chesterfield – all consenting residents and staff
Walgreen’s has not yet set dates for Assisted Living or the remainder of the campuses at this time. It is anticipated that these additional dates will not occur until mid-January 2021.
Over the past few days, we have gathered names of all residents and employees who have consented to receive the vaccine, the spaces where the vaccinations will be given are being prepared, and necessary forms and documents are being completed. We will be ready when the vaccine arrives.
Both Villages are suspending the No Visitor policy (we will allow visitors to Independent Living residents) from December 23 – December 27. All visitors MUST follow the following protocols:
- Screen-in for temperatures and contact risks at the appropriate entrance desk
- Be escorted by the resident to their apartment and not congregate in common areas
- Strictly adhere to the requirement to wear masks, wash/sanitize hands, make no contact and maintain social distancing
- Do not invade the space of any other resident or their guests
- The No Visitor policy will resume on December 28th
Our current COVID-19 status is as follows:
Chesterfield has 3 positive COVID residents in the Skilled Nursing Facility (plus 2 in the hospital), 2 in Assisted Living (plus 1 in the hospital), and 1 in Independent Living.
Sunset Hills has 1 positive COVID resident in the Skilled Nursing Facility (plus 2 in the hospital), 0 in Assisted Living (plus 2 in the hospital and 4 in the Care Center), and 0 in Independent Living (plus 1 in the hospital).
