Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
It was a nice, cool fall weekend at Friendship Villages, leading us to this Monday, October 26th, 2020.
There was little movement over the weekend with employees coming off quarantine and new ones going on quarantine, but we should see many of them returning to work by the end of this week.
We had no additional Residents test positive at any level of care over the weekend and, in total, the single Independent Living Resident at Chesterfield continues to do well, reporting no symptoms and anticipated to come off quarantine next week. The single Assisted Living Resident who has been positive at Sunset Hills is also doing well and should come off quarantine on Wednesday.
At Sunset Hills, 8 employees are at home with confirmed positive test results and another 7 quarantined at home, either pending a test result or doing so because of exposure to someone else who is positive. 6 of these employees are anticipated to return to work this week and the rest next week.
The single Resident in the Sunset Hills Assisted Living facility who tested positive two weeks ago continues to do well and is expected to come off quarantine on Wednesday. We are thankful for her health.
At Chesterfield, 6 employees are at home with confirmed positive test results and another 6 quarantined at home either pending a test result or doing so because of exposure to someone else who is positive.
The singular Resident in Independent Living in Chesterfield appears to be asymptomatic, is doing well, and, with God’s blessings, should come off quarantine mid-next week.
As a precaution, after contact tracing, other residents who had been identified as having been in close proximity of this resident and have also been asked to self-quarantine until we have the “all clear” sign.
As of today, we are blessed to be able to report that no other Residents have shown symptoms of the virus.
As always, we all pray that there has been no spread to others and our team continues to conduct further contact tracing in the effort to exhaust the effort to find any others who may have been in contact.
Given the circumstances, we have implemented additional precautions in independent living on both campuses. We anticipate that some of these precautions will be able to be lifted over the weekend at Sunset Hills and early next week in Chesterfield.
Our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facilities continue with the precautions that have been in place for some time. While we certainly don’t like the separation from families, there are still no visitors permitted due to County and State policies.
We believe that God has truly blessed Friendship Villages as we seek our calling to provide the very best in retirement living and senior care and we thank everyone for the continued support you have shown and demonstrated.
Please pray with us as we continue our fight to protect our residents and staff. It’s a fight worthy of the best we can give.
The Lord is with us.
