“And the Kingdom will be the Lord’s.” - Obadiah 1:21
A mother might send unruly children to their room with this warning: “wait for your father to come home!” The idea is that Dad will have the final say in sorting through the fight and correcting whatever wrongs have been done.
Israel had a brother: Esau. They didn’t get along. Many generations later, the nation of Esau rose up against the nation of Israel and caused tremendous harm. God spoke through the prophet Obadiah that a day would come when Father God would set everything right. No more would Israel suffer at the hands of these “brothers;” and ultimately the kingdom would once again be known as belonging to the Lord.
As we face our own hardships and fears, we can trust that our Heavenly Father (who sees it all) will set everything right once again. Hold fast to Him. Help is on the way!
