“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:7
Reflection: When God commands something He also releases the creative power to make that command possible. For example, at the beginning of creation, He spoke into the darkness and said, “Let there be light!” More than just a good idea, God’s words contained the power to make it happen. Later, God spoke to Joshua who was about to lead God’s people into a new land. More than words, He was giving Joshua the strength and courage he needed to obey the Lord and lead well. The same holds true for us. As we purpose to obey the Lord and follow His ways, He imparts what we need to obey and fulfill His purposes for us. If you feel like you’re facing unknown territory and are unsure of what is to come, choose to honor the Lord no matter what. He’ll give you all the courage and strength you need!
