Do you have a favorite dish? There’s a common expression that most of us have used in life to describe a particular favorite food: “that’s just like Mom used to make!” Others can try to duplicate the recipe, but take one bite and we can tell if it’s really as good as Mom’s. Once you’ve had the best, it’s hard to settle for less.
The psalmist calls us to discover for ourselves the goodness of God. The idea is that we may think we’ve had the best, but nothing can compare to the peace, love, and joy we find in Him! Let’s find our refuge in Him. Let’s feast upon the truths of His Word and draw near to Him in prayer. He promises to surround us with His goodness and to be all that we need to feel blessed and at rest. Come, taste and see for yourself!
