Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
Yesterday, beautiful. This morning, wet. But it’s a beautiful wet, at Friendship Villages on this Friday, May 8th, 2020.
There are several positive advances happening with Residents of the Chesterfield skilled nursing facility today and over the weekend.
4 Residents who have been cared-for in the Chesterfield COVID Care Center are graduating today, leaving 2 Residents still doing their time for a few more days. This is a terrific testimony to the incredible work of the entire care team in that unit who are nursing these Residents back to health.
Our team is also eagerly awaiting the return home of 5 Residents, this weekend, who have been hospitalized and treated with conditions that also included symptoms of COVID-19. We anticipate, at this time, that only 1 Resident will then remain in the hospital for a little longer after this weekend. 3 of these will be able to go directly back to their normal accommodations and 2 will be observed in the COVID Care Center for a couple of days and graduate from there. We are pleased with these positive results and thank God for His mercies.
As of this morning, no other independent living residents on the Chesterfield campus have exhibited signs or symptoms of COVID-19 and we pray that this continues on to the end of the voluntary self-quarantine that is currently scheduled to end on Thursday, May 14th. We’re praying strongly for a successful conclusion!
At this time, the Sunset Hills campus has been incredibly blessed to remain COVID-19-free and all of the Residents and the staff continue to work hard to continue fending it off.

No Visitor Policy Still in Full Effect
As many would expect, all of the security and no-visitor policies remain in full effect at all locations as we continue to combat the coronavirus. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all involved, Residents and families alike.
Although the State of Missouri has begun lifting some stay at home orders, St. Louis County has not, and neither is Friendship Village. We plan to maintain our measures and vigilance, as we are currently, until a time when we feel there will be an opportunity to safely begin relaxing some of our measures, but that time is not now. Our No-Visitor Policy remains in effect until further notice. We appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation.

Many family members and Residents have inquired as to how to donate a gift of appreciation for the staff for their service during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. As funds are collected, we will identify the best use of those funds in order to do the most that can be done for our employees. Every gift is appreciated, large and small.
