Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
As of Monday morning, April 6th, 2020, NO Resident on either the Chesterfield or the Sunset Hills campuses has been diagnosed with the COVID-19 coronavirus. We continue to thank God for this blessing.
Our highly-trained and attentive clinical staff in our Village Care Centers (skilled nursing facilities), Assisted Living and Independent Living communities are working carefully and diligently to prevent the introduction and potential spread of the virus.
Our Residents and staff are making the most out of our days together as we work to deliver entertainment and fitness classes remotely via our in-house television channels. (More Residents are exercising in their apartments than we ever had in our fitness classrooms). We keep them informed of schedules, policies and programming via our internal television channel, group robo-calls, bulletin boards, videos from the CEO and Infection Prevention Specialist, and posters.
Residents at all levels of care report that the chef-prepared meals being delivered to their living units are fantastic and it’s about time for our in-house “ice cream truck” to make the rounds again!
Our firm “No Visitor” policy remains in full effect across the entirety of both Villages. Delivery of essential packages for Residents are dropped off near the main entrances on campus and Residents are not permitted to connect during drop-off.
Our beloved employee who is at home with COVID-19 is doing okay and our Chaplain and Employee Health Nurse continue to check up on them as we pray for their successful and rapid recovery.
We would gladly accept donations of face masks of both the clinical and/or hand-made washable cloth types. We will put them to immediate and good use. Just drop them off at the door!
As always, please continue to pray as we battle the coronavirus and maintain the safety and protection of our Residents and staff.
