What an amazing contrast this Scripture gives us. God’s anger lasts for just a moment, but His kindness and compassion are everlasting. This declaration comes in the middle of a promise about restoration and freedom. The people of God had long ignored Him and followed their own whims. God was drawing them back to Himself and working to set things right. The same is true for us today. Despite our mistakes and failings, God forgives, renews, and restores. There is always hope to be found in Him!
