This command from the Lord Jesus is often referred to as the “Golden Rule.” Notice that it is a proactive command, not a reactive one. It doesn’t wait to find out what the other person will do; it takes the initiative. When we act first to be kind, to be helpful, to lift up, to encourage, to love, and more, the world is changed, one life at a time. Others are then inspired to do their part.
